Dr. Kirsti A. DyerKirsti A. Dyer MD, MS, FT, CWS is a respected physician, professional health educator, professor, lecturer and author. She is also an expert in life challenges, loss, grief and bereavement including traumatic and NICU losses.

Dr. Dyer has been teaching the Nutrition & Wellness Course, Bio 50 at Columbia College every semester and summer since January 2005. She has been interested in Nutrition, Wellness and Health Education since her days as a practicing Internal Medicine Physician (adult medicine specialist).

Dr. Dyer has been involved with providing health education over the internet for more than a decade. She is the Domain Designer for the Journey of Hearts ™ website, created in 1997 as the first and only physician based website devoted to educating people about the normal grief response. In 2007 we celebrated 10 years of serving the grieving online community.

She has presented scientific papers about her experiences with Journey of Hearts ™ and the Medical Internet at several U.S. conferences and international conferences in London, England, Heidelberg, Germany and Victoria, Canada.

Her focus has shifted away from formal clinical practice to health education and teaching since having her second child. She is doubly Certified Online Instructor through Cerro Coso College and through Madonna University. Dr. Dyer currently teaches an online graduate course in Grieving Family Systems as part of a Certificate in Bereavement. The Nutrition and Wellness course is scheduled to go online in the Fall 2008.

In addition she has been an Online student for 10 years taking online Continuing Medical Education Courses as well as online Graduate Courses and other courses in a variety of settings on different topics and different styles of teaching.
